Fine Art and Antiques Industry file for governmental support
Antiques.co.uk recently created an online petition that will be submitted to the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to lobby for increased support for the fine art and antiques industry in this time of need.
Once they have managed to obtain sufficient signatures they will deliver the petition to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP, in order to gain his response.
A fine initiative which has already received support from Natasha Goodwin [ Deputy Editor of BBC Homes & Antiques], Rupert Thomas [ Editor of The World of Interiors] and Sarah Percy-Davis, Chief Executive of LAPADA, the London and Provincial Antique Dealers Association.
Besides the possible governmental support which this initiative hopes to generate, in whatever form, the time is ripe for the industry to also consider intensifying joint initiatives and put individual interests aside. In these times of a economical downfall, a cooperative stronghold is difficult to be surpassed by individuality.
We hope that you to are prepared sign the petition and convey your support of the antiques industry in the UK.
