Stolen Art Registers and Databases
There are a number of stolen art registers and databases available on internet, one more accessible than the other.
The number of specialised databases is however quite limited. For some reason it seems that the antiquarian book and map trade are the only ones that developed an initiative through which stolen works of art on paper are registered and made publically available. Difficult to say is whether the stolen items are only those that were nicked from the antiquarian book and map dealers, or that private collectors can also submit stolen books, maps and prints.
All in all it would benefit all if some more initiatives were developed with regard to registering niches within stolen works of art.
