Video : The Great Art Bubble
The collection contemporary art of Damien Hurst, which was auctioned in September 2008, realised a grand total of 140 million euro’s. The auction was the high and at the same time the dramatic end of an era were contemporary art reached, at times, obscene high prices. How is it that this art bubble came to exists ? Ben Lewis, art critic and filmmaker, investigated the contemporary art market and came to some intriguing conclusions.
